Online Exhibition and Curator Talk
Zygote Press Inc. exhibit Genius loci_toward understanding of place never able to open due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Coincidentally enough, this series of pieces by artists Teressa Jones and Arron Foster explore feelings that many may be experiencing at the moment such as loss, longing and change. These themes are presented through wall-hung elements, along with projections and sculptures that were meant to allow audience interaction. In an effort to still showcase this exhibition, Zygote Press will be hosting a virtual talk by its curator via Zoom paired with a digital walkthrough of the art pieces through its Facebook page. Fitness Fridays for Alzheimer’s Association
Finding self-discipline for home workouts can be hard, so events like this one hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association of Cleveland can be just the thing to keep us on track each week. Get moving and grooving this weekend through a digital fitness class that is simple, yet upbeat, while also supporting a local cause. All donations will go to support the Alzheimer’s Association of Cleveland. Take a Virtual Wine Tasting Tour
Although we’d all prefer to be driving through the Ohio countryside visiting wineries, it’s still possible to sip and enjoy different wines from the comfort of your home. Company Car and Limousine is hosting a series of virtual wine tastings that feature a different Ohio winery each time. This weekend, learn about the family history and wine production behind Fillia Cellars through a Zoom presentation, while enjoying some of its red or white wines along with a gourmet cheese platter. Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite and include three bottles of red or white wine, cheese, a charcuterie board and the virtual guided tour. Virtual 5K hosted by Peace is Possible
If you’ve been itching to run for a good cause, this is the event for you. Hosted by Peace Racing, this self-paced and self-timed virtual 5K run supports Peace’s foundation, which organizes workshops for students presenting ways to spread peace and support victims of hate and violence. Registration for the race ends this weekend, and you can start your race on any date between May 17 and June 17.
