Beyond Surface Opening at Artist Archives of the Western Reserve
Artist Archives of The Western Reserve hosts a special opening of its newest exhibit, Beyond Surface: Denise Buckley & Kathy Skerritt. The exhibit features the works of welder and figurative sculptor Denise Buckley and abstract painter Kathy Skerrit. The show pairs two seemingly different artists to examine how works of great technical mastery carry deeper and unknown meanings. One highlight of the show, for example, is a herd of six life-size metal deer grazing across the gallery floor. Visitors are invited to see the pieces in-person or through a virtual opening this Friday on Zoom. In-person groups are limited to 10 people or less. Free, Feb. 5, 7-8 p.m., Artists Archives of the Western Reserve, 1834 E. 123rd St., Cleveland, 216-721-9020, artistsarchives.org
