Brite Winter: TwiBrite Zone
For its 12th year, Brite Winter is back and kicking off this weekend with their first event as part of their monthly series happening between now and April. This Friday, watch the virtual performance inspired by the oddness of 2020 and translated through performances, musical acts and more all following the theme of different episodes from the classic sci-fi drama, The Twilight Zone. Edwins Too: An Exploration of American Chophouses
This weekend, put away the takeout menu and enjoy a unique, fine-dining experience created by Edwins Too that will help expand your palate and take you back to classic dishes that helped shape American cuisine as we know it. Justin Brennan: General Maintenance Exhibit at Hedge Gallery
Officially opening today, Hedge Gallery is kicking off its 2021 season with an exhibit showcase by painter Justin Brennan. The exhibit, General Maintenance features vibrant and pop-art inspired paintings that mix a variety of mediums including oil paint, oil stick, collage and spray paint. The series of works were greatly inspired by the uneasiness and self-reflection brought on by COVID-19 and explore different themes such as mental health and addiction as well as working in faces of the artist’s loved ones and his own. 78th Street Studios requires all visitors to wear face coverings. Steve Wynn with Linda Pitmon Livestream Concert
It may be a virtual event, but Steve Wynn and Linda Pitmon are bringing you an equally lively concert through your computer screen this Sunday. In support of the Beachland Ballroom, this livestream performance features the underground rocker, Steve Wynn who has recorded more than 400 songs including “Tears Won’t Help” and “Nothing But The Shell.” As part of The Impossible Tour that is hitting 13 cities, Wynn’s wife, Linda Pitmon will be joining the performance on the drums as well. $10, Jan. 17, 8 p.m., beachlandballroom.com
Third Friday Art Walk at 78th Studios
After checking out the exhibit at Hedge Gallery, don’t miss a chance to explore the array of different galleries and art spaces at 78th Studios during its Third Friday Art Walk. This is the space’s first event of 2021, so visitors can expect a ton of new and different exhibits, art pieces for sale and on display from local artists such as The Byzantine, Eileen Dorsey Studio, RampArts Gallery and more. Plus, The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will be on site to provide some live music from Carrie King.
