New Ground Theatre Festival at Cleveland Play House
Cleveland is a compost of personal and national history. It’s where the river caught fire and Sara Lucy Bagby lived by the late 1800s, ridden with ghosts that enrich the imagination. Special guests will engage with the playwrights about the excerpts featured, accompanied by local and nonlocal instrumental talent. Mapping New Ground, a custom map by illustrator Sequoia Bostick, highlights sites that inspired the plays, such as the Variety Theatre, Public Square and Woodland Cemetery. $5, May 15, 4 & 7:30 p.m., 216-400-7000, clevelandplayhouse.com
