Cleveland Jazz Orchestra Little Big Band Livestream at Bop Stop
Earlier this year, the jazz world lost Chick Corea, a versatile keyboardist whose work included jazz and classical as well as psychedelic, funk and fusion. As a tribute to Corea, the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra Little Big Band will perform at Bop Stop. The virtual event can be streamed live on Bop Stop’s Facebook page for free, though donations are encouraged. The show will feature fresh arrangements by Paul Ferguson, Brad Wagner and Aidan Plank, Robin Hughes on vocals, and local legend Cleveland jazz guitarist Bob Fraser. Tune In Exhibit at Akron Art Museum Before the public knew how to log on, they were tuning in. This weekend is the first time the traveling exhibit, Tune In, will be on display outside the Akron Art Museum on South High Street. Designed by Rick Lazes and constructed by a group of artists known as the Art Factory, six retro TV screens cascade precariously off each other in the diorama, surrounded by wallpaper reminiscent of by-gone living rooms. Modern entertainment seems to have brought communities together as well as made them aloof. Free, May 6-31, all day, 1 S. High St., Akron, 330-376-9185, akronartmuseum.org
