Freedom On Juneteenth
In celebration of Juneteenth, the commemoration of the ending of slavery in America, Karamu House in Cleveland has planned a special virtual streaming event that includes spoken word, dance and music. Produced and directed by Tony F. Sias, this 90-minute production combines performances from 20 different artists that aim to celebrate, commemorate and educate about the meaning of Juneteenth in America. This local makers hub is back with a more scaled back, ticket-only event to help re-connect you to different small businesses and artists from all around Cleveland. Take a stroll through several artist studios and exhibitions that will be open throughout the building, or stop and shop for various goods and homemade pieces, whether it's a trendy piece from Yellowcake Clothing Co., a quirky antique from The Byzantine and more.
