Cleveland March for Our Lives
Cleveland’s March For Our Lives will be held downtown March 24, in conjunction with multiple marches nationwide demanding action on gun control in America. A response to increased instances of gun violence in the U.S., particularly the mass shooting at Florida’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in February, the marches have been primarily organized by high school students. The event will begin with a Public Square rally featuring speakers before participants march though downtown at noon. With more than 2,500 people projected to attend in Cleveland alone, the March should be one for the history books. Free. March 24 10 a.m., Public Square, W. Superior Ave & Ontario Street, Cleveland, https://www.facebook.com/events/1648185068593945/
You Can’t Play Ball In A Skirt: The Story of Alta Weiss
Alta Weiss was in a league of her won. This "girl wonder" took baseball by storm in the 1900s by pitching strike after strike for the all-male Vermillion Independents, becoming so popular that special trains were commissioned to run from Cleveland to Vermillion for the chance to see her in action. While she played, Weiss was also paying her way through medical school, where she was the only woman in her 1914 graduating class. Now a century later, the Baseball Heritage Museum is honoring her with an in-character reenactment, featuring actress Anne McEvoy as Weiss. Don’t miss this grand slam opportunity to step into the cleats of a local legend. Free. March 24 1 p.m., Baseball Heritage Museum, 6601 Lexington Ave., Cleveland, 216-789-1083, baseballheritagemuseum.org

“Weird Al” Yankovic
Musical parody prince Weird Al will stop in Cleveland March 25 for a show unlike anything he’s done in his 30-year career. The “Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour” contains almost none of his famous parody songs, instead concentrating on his hilarious original works, with the setlist changing night-to-night. With no costumes, props or video screens, this performance will shine the brightest spotlight on Yankovic’s gut-busting lyrics and cultural commentary —with an ample dose of accordion, of course. $69.50-$79.50. March 25 8 p.m., Playhouse Square, Ohio Theatre, 1511 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, 866-546-1353, playhousesquare.org
