The Polish Village Tavern in Berea hosted a listening party for Zach Bryan’s new album The Great American Bar Scene on June 24, 2024. Loyal fans were treated to horse-drawn wagon rides, a mechanical bull and a selection of songs from the record. Bryan chose 23 “small town bars” to preview the album ahead of its July 4 release with the possibility that he would make an appearance at a handful of them.
Why did he choose this obscure corner bar in Ohio? Because it was his girlfriend, podcaster Briana LaPaglia’s, favorite watering hole when she attended nearby Baldwin Wallace University. Bryan has been known to discreetly frequent the bar when he is in town, and according to bar manager Bittrell Scott, he counts it as one of his favorites. However, this was not one of those nights. Some revelers didn’t seem to mind his absence and entertained themselves by sipping beers on a couch garbage-picked from a neighbor’s tree lawn.
