Q: What are the top fashion trends for the fall?
A: There are several fashion themes reigning supreme right now. Leather is huge. You can go beyond a jacket and wear a leather skirt or pants — just choose one piece at a time to wear. The ’80s are making a comeback as well in the form of rock ’n’ roll glam, complete with metal studs and grommets. Other top trends include sleeveless sheath dresses worn with scarves, head-to-toe monochromatic looks and metallic bronze and gunmetal anything (I mean accessories, clothing, shoes — whatever you can find). Mixing these trends with last year’s digs will keep your wardrobe current and fashion-forward.

Q: Will ankle boots be in style again this season?
A: Absolutely! Ankle booties ruled the runways once again. Black leather booties look chic when worn with black leather skinny pants (note trend above), skinny jeans or a minidress and black opaque tights. Recycling your booties from seasons past is economical and eco-friendly. You can find great black booties at Aldo at Great Northern Mall, Sugar Footwear on West Ninth Street and Dillard’s at Beachwood Place.
