Backstage Pass

Janet Macoska is a living camera. She clicks a mental shutter and relays stories from the '80s as if she's still in the Richfield Coliseum. Now, the Cleveland music photographer is releasing All Access Cleveland: The Rock and Roll Photography of Janet Macoska (Cleveland Landmarks Press, $25.95). The 152-page book features 340 photos snapped over 41 years, including local spotlights such as the Agora Theatre and Ballroom. She discusses her favorite shots.

"He has a copy of this in his home in Switzerland," says Macoska. "He's the only rock star that actually frightens me. He takes on these personas onstage so totally. You think he's one of his characters, but he's a really nice British fella."
