Two of R&B’s biggest hitmakers, Usher and Chris Brown, will join forces this summer for The R&B Tour, which arrives in Cleveland for a show at Huntington Bank Field on Tuesday, July 7.
Both musicians are fresh off major tours. Usher’s Past, Present, Future tour in 2024 brought the “Yeah!” singer to 62 sold-out shows in North America. Meanwhile, Brown’s 2025 Breezy Bowl XX World Tour broke records, earning almost $300 million and, according to a news release, becoming the highest-grossing tour by a solo Black American male artist ever.
The Cleveland show will also celebrate Brown’s 12th album B.R.O.W.N., which is set to arrive in May. Both Brown and Usher are responsible for a variety of major popular hits that defined R&B of the 2000s.
Beyond music, Brown made significant headlines in 2009 after assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna, and has faced numerous legal issues since.
“Even though Brown's stint in Cleveland was solely to showcase his talents and appease his fans, it's difficult to write an objective review without thinking of some of his unfavorable behavior in recent years,” wrote cleveland.com journalist Nate Paige in a review of Brown’s 2017 Rocket Arena concert, the last time he played in Northeast Ohio. “Brown's fans either love him despite his flaws, or used to love him, and no longer support his music. By the time he took the stage, The Q was nearly full — a sign that this talented singer/dancer/actor still has a strong fan base in Ohio.”
This summer, the duo’s next tour kicks off on June 26 in Denver and will continue until Dec. 11 in Tampa, Florida.
The concert joins several other stadium shows at Huntington Bank Field this summer, including Foo Fighters (Aug. 10), Jelly Roll and Post Malone (25) and Zach Bryan (May 9).
Tickets to the Cleveland show go on sale on Monday, April 27, to the general public, with artist and Citi presale tickets starting as early as April 21. Find more details at clevelandbrowns.com.
