Cleveland's top 15 school systems.
As part of our Best Places To Live issues, Cleveland Magazine pulls education data from the state of Ohio to rank the education systems of Cleveland's suburbs. This year, it has a new No. 1, and it took half a decade for the Chagrin Falls school system to get there.
No. 1 Education System: In 2020, Chagrin Falls' school system ranked No. 4 in our rankings. Last year, they started to knock on the door at No. 2, and this year they dethroned Solon, which has been the best school system in our rankings for at least six years.
Key Stats: Chagrin Falls has a 99.3% four-year graduation rate, a 94.8% attendance rate for the 2024-25 school year, and an overall grade of A from the state of Ohio.
Slip: While Solon did move down to two, it was not a fall but rather an improvement in the Chagrin Falls school system. Solon is still one of the best school systems, receiving an overall grade of A with a 99.1% four-year graduation rate.
Rounding Out: Joining the top five are Rocky River, Bay Village and Hudson in that order. These three cities consistently rank among the best. In 2020, Hudson ranked No. 2, Rocky River No. 5 and Bay Village No. 8 in our education rankings.

Check back tomorrow for the answer to today's question.
I went to a public school system and I would not have changed it. I love that Ohio provides this information to help parents make decisions for their kids.
The school system in Warren does not receive a good rating from the state. But I believe we had some of the best teachers in the country, and I had the pick of opportunities that drove me to where I am now.
Those include advanced placement classes, college credit classes and we had a broadcasting class. Numbers and state tests only tell part of the story. Being in high school from 2014-2018, I had a very interesting experience with those tests.
However, it was the people around me, Monday through Friday, who shaped me into who I am. - Jaden Stambolia, Editorial Assistant
