Abbey Markiewitz and Julia Gramenz believe in their store’s motto so much, it’s written across Fetch & Co.’s windows: “thick or thin thighs, we have your size.”

The duo are out to change the local size-inclusivity game with their Lakewood shop —nearly every piece of clothing inside their 675-square-foot space comes in small through 3X.

“We’re recognizing that all bodies are good bodies and you don’t have to be an extra small to come and shop in a boutique,” says Markiewitz.

After getting a taste for selling clothing as LuLaRoe consultants, the pair thought a brick-and-mortar seemed like a logical next step. They opened the shop in February 2018 and quickly built a steady following.

It’s no wonder — besides the wide array of sizes, the store carries an assortment of casual, on-trend separates such as Judy Blue’s raw-edge denim with pearl-adorned cuffs ($45), Hayden’s breezy floral kimonos ($46.50) and more.

“We always say that we want you to feel like you’re wearing pajamas, but look put-together,” says Markiewitz.

A selection of accessories by local designers including Lakewood BLK LBL and 2 Odd Birds round out the wares. But it’s the shop’s own graphic T-shirt line that Markiewitz and Gramenz are most excited about. Dubbed The Peace Project, the tees feature puns using the word “peace”: for example, “peace be kind” or “peace pass the wine.”

Each shirt is designed by the pair, with $2 from each sale being donated to charity. Some even feature the shop’s logo of an olive branch, a symbol of peace.

“It spreads a good message and it gives back to a great cause,” says Markiewitz. “And they flatter everybody.”
