Great rock ‘n’ roll songs hide intricate messages behind simple chords and lyrics. Artist Chris Deighan does the same in his Cleveland Rock History Print ($30 for 11-by-17-inch, $80 for 24-by-46.2-inch), which pays homage to Cleveland’s rock history. On the surface, the drawing is a simple depiction of the Cleveland skyline with some guitars. But wait, are those smokestacks guitar amps? And there’s Richfield Coliseum, home of the World Series of Rock. And isn’t that Neil Young’s “Old Black” Les Paul?
