Spa Guide: Spa West

The ritzy-ness of this Westlake estate offers a lux experience.

With its pillar-adorned facade and sprawling size, Spa West could be mistaken for a ritzy estate. Yet that sense of luxury sets the Westlake retreat apart, with an aromatherapy-scented lobby and grand, stone-tiled halls leading to secluded massage rooms and baths. Spa West uses the most ancient of products too, offering a treatment spread developed around its signature ingredient, mineral-rich Himalayan sea salt. The pinkish mineral is incorporated into everything from exfoliation and pedicures to healing salt baths. “Nobody in this area is doing the Himalayan salt stones, so we wanted to bring that in as our signature type of treatment,” says spa director Kim Cooke. Make the most of the product with a 30-minute salt and oil scrub ($60), a full-body exfoliation that improves the skin’s tone and texture. For a mini-vacation, book your own “spa journey,” ($110-$600), a customized package with facial, couples massages and beauty treatment options that can be upgraded with a spa lunch and mini champagne bottle. 29109 Center Ridge Road, Westlake, 440-899-7729, spawest.com

Try this: Dive into decadence with the pink Himalayan salt bath ($45), a rosy blend of essential oils in a multi-jet bath designed to detoxify and relax you.
