The Querencia, out now, Seafair

Soil to the Seed, out now, The Speedbumps

In Light, out now, Maura Rogers and the Bellows

Mont Royal, out Aug. 28, The Lighthouse and the Whaler

Calypso, out now, Midnight Passenger

Liner Notes: The indie-rock band's debut full-length album progresses seasonally, from dreamy lead track "Bones" to moody closer "21." "It gets progressively darker than we've ever experimented with before," says lead singer Tony Zaro. Press Play: The brooding slow-burner "Wading in the Water" shows the band's space-rock side. "It really expresses the loneliness someone can go through when they feel like they don't connect with anyone," Zaro says. See Them: For dates, visit midnightpassenger.net.

Patience Worth, out now, Brent Kirby and His Luck

Liner Notes: The singer-songwriter's fourth solo album got its namesake from a spirit that inspired '20s author Pearl Lenore Curran. "[It's] a strange and interesting way for creative things to come out," says Brent Kirby. "The other part of that is the idea of patience and getting through something." My Favorite Summer Venue: He loves to play the rustic Barking Spider in University Circle. "When they open up the patio, it's like the music and outdoors are all one," Kirby says. See Him: Wade Oval Wednesdays, July 8
