Mismatched earrings
A vintage bear charm sits on Jessica Kinsinger's worktable for months before it finds a mate to become a set of her funky asymmetrical Sassyfrass earrings. Kinsinger purposely mismatches each quirky pair, from a sombrero-donning mariachi singer and bauble combo named "Don Pablo" to a revolver and Victorian heart duo titled "Femme Fatale" ($30-$65). "Each piece presents a story to me," says the Canton-based jewelry designer. "So I find something that helps to tell its story." Kinsinger, who sells at the Cleveland Bazaar, Rust & Found in Canal Fulton and more, hunts for peculiar, antique doodads and trinkets at auctions and even finds random items along the street. Although Kinsinger describes herself as quiet, she says the bold earrings are her palette for crazy ideas that encourage women to embrace their spunkiness. "If you love something, you should just go for it," she says. ilovesassyfrass.com
