Expect to see a lot of Cleveland in the upcoming Superman film.
The James Gunn-directed superhero movie filmed in Downtown Cleveland for a month over the summer, and now some of the first glimpses at the finished product have been unveiled with a new trailer from DC Studios.
On Wednesday, DC got meta and posted a 30-second teaser trailer... for the official teaser trailer, and it became the top-trending video on YouTube. It was followed by the official teaser trailer video, released 24 hours later, on Thursday.
In it, pay close attention to catch a few snippets of Cleveland — including a romantic kiss inside The Arcade, a superhero flying around Terminal Tower, a fight scene in Progressive Field and more. Plus: you'll see scenes inside and outside of The Daily Planet, where Superman, aka Clark Kent, works as a reporter. (In Cleveland, Superior Avenue’s Leader Building was transformed into the newsroom's facade for filming.)
And, of course, expect a couple of clips of actor David Corenswet flying through the air as the titular character.
The movie, which sports a hefty $363.8 million budget, also stars Rachel Brasnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. It’s set to release on July 11.
