Lekko Coffee plans to start the new year off with a caffeine boost: On Jan. 1, the brand is opening a new cafe in Downtown Cleveland's Warehouse District, in the former Phoenix Coffee space at 826 W. St. Clair Ave.
It will be the second Lekko Coffee location, following the brand's flagship Ohio City shop which opened at the corner of Detroit Ave. and West 26th Street in 2021.
"We have spent months prepping the space to provide the hospitality Cleveland has come to expect from Lekko, with consistently high-quality signature beverages, breakfast burritos, and pastries," Lekko founder Matt Ashton shared in a press release.
The local brand is continuing to pursue previously announced plans for another location in Old Brooklyn, but Ashton said in an email that it's been delayed due to unforeseen reasons, and that the Warehouse District location opportunity "was too good to pass up."
Expect an intimate, cozy shop experience with just 10 seats inside, compared to the expansive Ohio City shop. The new location will feature an espresso station, featuring a handful of different coffee roasts, including selections from Lekko, Aviary in Cleveland, Metric Coffee in Chicago and Prodigal Coffee in Boulder, Colorado.
