Glow at Cleveland Botanical Garden
Transport yourself to a festive wonderland by visiting Glow at the Cleveland Botanical Garden. Both indoor and outdoor gardens will be covered in twinkling lights, snow-covered trees and glittering ornaments. In addition, different holiday related plants — from conifer trees, poinsettias and holly to festive fruits — will be on display. Joyful: A Karamu Holiday Celebration
The talented singers, dancers and performers of Karamu House bring the season of joy in the best way they know how — through a vibrant performance that you can view from the comfort of your home. Santa Claus Meet-and-Greet at Aquarium
Yes, even the fish want to meet Santa Claus every year. Visit the Greater Cleveland Aquarium to see a scuba-diving Santa swimming alongside the different types of sea creatures — red suit and all. Visitors will get a chance to participate in an animal-spotting activity and afterwards stop to chat with Scuba Claus and receiving a complimentary digital photo with him. Virtual Showings at The Cinematheque
If you need a break from watching A Christmas Story for the tenth time, check out a film you’ve never seen through one of the Cinematheque’s virtual showings. If you still want something holiday related, check out Three Summers, a social satire that spans across three summers between 2015-2017 during Brazil’s Christmas holidays and follows the story of a middle-aged woman getting mixed up in a money laundering scandal. For the music lovers, check out Zappa, an expansive documentary that peers into the life of Frank Zappa through never-before-seen footage, interviews and bonus features. Wintertide at Gordon Square
This Dec. 12 part-virtual, part-in-person event hosted by the Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization features activities, arts presentations and more all across Gordon Square. At 1 p.m., tune into a virtual performance hosted by Cleveland Public Theater’s India Nicole Burton. From noon to 6 p.m., take a stroll around West 65th Street and Detroit Avenue where you’ll find performers and pop-up chalk murals throughout the street.
