It isn’t summer until you hop on a coaster at Cedar Point. Plenty of us will be lining up for the new Snake River Expedition, an immersive ride that serves as a nod to the rides of days gone by — the Western Cruise and Paddlewheel Excursions.
“The new ride is completely different [from those two] as riders in themed boats become part of the story as they take on a ‘secret’ mission,” says Tony Clark, director of communications. “Live actors will interact with riders and guests will encounter characters and ‘danger’ along the way.”
And in case you didn’t hear, the iconic amusement park celebrated its 150th anniversary last summer. A slew of events, including a Celebrate 150 Spectacular Parade, are on tap now that the park will be open.
“It celebrates our special history here in Ohio by featuring our ride innovations, our beachfront Hotel Breakers and the Cedar Point Beach along with our games, food and more,” Clark says. “The floats are massive — some more than two stories high. The soundtrack is completely custom and the performers will help provide a family-friendly party atmosphere to celebrate our special year.”
Of course, no visit to Cedar Point is complete without souvenirs and the park will be offering commemorative keepsakes in honor of their big anniversary. Food lovers are in for a treat as well, with even more food locations along the way to keep everyone in the family fueled up and ready for fun.
