Willoughby's Coppia will close its doors next month.
Food & Drink | By Julia Lombardo
Ever since winning Chopped in 2025, it’s been a constant cycle of news for Coppia chefs Hedy and Talia Trovato.
News Cycle: First, a move from Chesterland to a larger Willoughby restaurant that made more space for exclusive prix-fixe experiences, then some recent recognition from Cleveland Magazine as one of the region’s 50 best restaurants.
Days after the honor, the Trovatos announced they would be closing their Willoughby restaurant for good.
Like Old Times: The decision comes as the couple accepted new roles at Walt Disney World in Florida.
The Trovatos are no strangers to cooking under sunny skies, as the couple first met while working at Walt Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
Plan Your Day: Those looking to make it to the restaurant before it closes will have until June 20.
Talk of the Town
Guardians relief pitcher Erik Sabrowski has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to an injury to his left elbow. Sabrowski is suffering from inflammation. To fill Sabrowski's spot on the roster, Cleveland has called up Codi Heuer.
Nine crews from Cleveland's Fire Department responded to a massive fire that engulfed a vacant two-story factory building on Tuesday morning. No injuries were reported. Cleveland Fire is investigating the cause of the fire, as the building had been abandoned for decades.
Cleveland's gas prices are still nearly 25 cents higher than the national average and 10 cents higher than Ohio's average, per GasBuddy. Cleveland's average sits at $4.68 as of May 26. Ohio's average and the United States' average are $4.60 and $4.44, respectively.
Ohio's sales tax exemption for data centers cost the state $1.6 billion in revenue in 2025. According to the Ohio Department of Taxation, the sales tax exemption was forecast to cost the state $136 million in 2025, but the forecast was off by nearly 11 times the final amount, reports Signal Ohio.

Book Sale is not to be missed. I've been to the event a few times with friends, especially while studying at Case Western Reserve University, and I snagged some serious deals on great reads, vinyl, CDs and more. (When I say "deal," I mean it. On the final day of the event, you can fill a box to the brim with books, for just five dollars.)
I'm a little guilty of having ... a few too many books in my house. But what's one, or two, or a dozen more, when there are so many great reads in Northeast Ohio? - Annie Nickoloff, Senior Editor
