We make playlists for the office or working out, but Akron’s 91.3 the Summit has taken the work out of making one for our local favorites. Its new streaming channel, the 330, plays a commercial- and DJ-free loop of more than 600 songs from bands such as the Raspberries, the Black Keys and up-and-coming local acts via the330.net or the station’s mobile app. “We celebrate the region by talking about things happening in Northeast Ohio, but we only played one or two regional artists in a four-hour shift,” says general manager Tommy Bruno. “It was time to dedicate a channel to regional talent.”
