The new Innerbelt Bridge won't be finished until the end of 2013, but Iron Hammer Designs owner Evan Tenkku has already created a tribute that would look great in any true Clevelander's home. "It inspired me that we're finally creating something that is a little more beautiful and modern," Tenkku says. Cast from steel, the base of his Innerbelt-inspired table imitates the new bridge's outward-curving pillars and wavelike arches. The tabletop — created with Perry-based Unreal Granite's cement-overlay system — resembles a road. Blue LED lights underneath add the finishing touch. "I love the fact that Cleveland is kind of an industrial city," says Tenkku, whose company creates industrial-inspired custom furniture. "Some people may not look at it as something that could be beautiful, but it really can be."
