Unknown Terrain Opening Reception at Morgan Conservatory
The Morgan Conservatory was once an industrial machine shop that has since been converted into an arts center. Unknown Terrain, the conservatory’s latest exhibition, is an exploration into familiar places transformed into breathtaking works of art. Featuring artwork by Tom Balbo, Susan Danko, Taryn McMahon, and Kristin Paabus, Unknown Terrain will bend the narrative and showcase the three-dimensional aspects of environments reconstructed to highlight the psychological and philosophical ideologies behind art. Women Rock CLE
The birthplace of rock ‘n’ roll will erupt this Friday when local female-fronted bands like AJ & the Woods, Niights, Samfox and Whiskey Hollow headline the second installment of Women Rock CLE. The bands will donate the proceeds from auctioned off merchandise to Laura’s Home, a shelter designated for supporting women and children in need, and a portion of the ticket sales will go towards the organization as well. Ohio State YoYo Contest
Grab your weekend by the string and head over to the Waterloo Arts District to witness some of the best yoyoers in Northeast Ohio face off against one another. Don’t miss the competition’s return to Beachland Ballroom, its original venue. All skill levels will be present and, along with various prizes for competitors, the title of Ohio State YoYo Champion is on the line. Crafted Festival
With over 38 craft beers, seven local restaurants and two local bands, Lincoln Park will be overflowing with delicious brews and delectable bites. Elementree Livity Project and Doc Robinson plan to fill the festival with home grown Cleveland tunes and hometown favorites like Market Garden Brewery and Tremont Taphouse will be delivering their signature drinks. Gypsy
Considered to be one of Broadway’s all-time achievements, Gypsy will take Cleveland by storm. The Tony Award-winning production begins its run on Friday at the Beck Center for the Arts. Directed by Scott Spence, Gypsy will showcase its gripping narrative about a family traveling across the country amidst the end of vaudeville and creation of burlesque.
