Perched up on the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland’s loading dock, three bands riff on the sonic art of Akron-born avant-garde Devo singer Mark Mothersbaugh. The trio of idiosyncratic acts, which includes the sublime Baltimore-based House of Lords, Cleveland’s alternative Spacebeach and Chicago’s performance art band Ono, feature a cosmic range of stellar sounds, from stomping West African rhythms, to screaming saxophones, flashy video screens and something aptly called “gospel noise.” Free, Aug. 19, 8 p.m. Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland, 11400 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, 216-421-8671, mocacleveland.org
