Avon Heritage Park
Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the gazebo in Avon Heritage Park sits on a small patch of grass surrounded by a bustling commercial district just across the street from Avon Brewing Co. A garden club handles the upkeep of the gazebo and surrounds it with roses and hanging baskets filled with flowers. “Whether you’re inside of it or outside driving by it, it’s something that catches your eye,” says Mayor Bryan Jensen. “I hope it makes you pause for a moment.” Stoney Ridge Road and Detroit Road, Avon
Lyndhurst Park
Built in the mid ’90s, this 15-foot-tall gazebo in Lyndhurst is the gathering place for community members to watch live summer concerts, witness weddings and celebrate holidays. A perfect example of Lyndhurst’s nickname, “The Community of Neighbors,” the gazebo even found its way into the city’s logo because it brings people together. “It’s beautiful. It’s great for taking pictures,” says Mayor Patrick Ward. “You’ve got nature all around you and it lends a little something special to your moment.” 5301 Mayfield Road, Lyndhurst
Medina’s Uptown Park
This Victorian-style gazebo was built in 1975 in the center of Medina’s Uptown Park. Today, it’s the heart of Medina’s historic commercial square, surrounded by 72 flower pots that adorn the sidewalks leading in from all sides. Catch weekly Friday night concerts on the lawn in June and July, and an enormous Christmas tree lighting ceremony that brings in nearly a thousand visitors just before Thanksgiving. “It’s just a picturesque place,” says Mayor Dennis Hanwell. “It’s really the centerpiece of our community.” 79-89 Public Square, Medina
