Hudson has a need for speed. But it's not raising driving speed limits. The suburb wants to become a Gigabit City — a community with affordable access to fiber-optic cable Internet, which can reach 1,000 megabits per second. The faster speed translates into lightning quick app downloads and Netflix binge sessions free of drops in picture quality. The city government already uses the faster speed and plans to extend it to 30 nearby businesses in a pilot program this fall. We go behind the numbers of a 2014 Hudson poll of 986 residents and 133 businesses on Internet usage and needs in the community.
