I love the house that I had built, and we’ve made a lot of changes. My fiancee, Annette Stewart, and I are getting married in August. Before she came, I had no furniture in my living room. I had a fish tank, and we waved at each other as I went past every day.
This house is special. How many people can say they’ve had a house built from the bottom up? To go from looking at flat ground to these guys digging a hole, you really see the process.
But what was amazing was just seeing God make this happen for me, because I was short on the money. I decided to call my sister, she’s kind of like my financial adviser, and told her what I was thinking.
She takes me to the exact same street I live on and goes, “I was thinking about having a house built here and thought my brother might want that. God told me to set aside $3,600, and if he decides he wants to have a house built, I’ll have the money ready.”
It was the exact amount I needed. Here’s the funny thing: When she walks up to me and hands me the check she says, “I don’t know anything about the house until you invite me over.” She gets in her car and drives away. My family doesn’t even know this story.
This house is special for me. It says a lot about where I wanted to be. And now, the missus has the chance to do whatever she wants.
