Whether you’re Flo or just plain Fred, nobody wants to grocery shop after a long workday. And taking the time to find farm-fresh goods? Forget it. Local insurance giant Progressive takes the trouble out of eating right with a year-round, weekly farmers market at the company’s headquarters in Mayfield Village, one of many amenities that have made the company and city a magnet for young professionals. Every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., vendors sell products such as fruits and veggies from Woolf Farms in East Rochester, pastries from Northfield-based Olde School Donuts and Bakery and meats from BB Farms in Hiram. Workers can also pick up a bottle of Carhop’s Burger Sauce, a tasty, gluten-free secret sauce made in Willowick. Progressive even has refrigerators on every floor for workers to store their purchases. “It’s a convenient and fun option for people who maybe don’t live near a farmers market or don’t have time to shop during the week,” says Progressive manager of recruitment Erin Hendrick. 6300 Wilson Mills Road, Mayfield Village, 440-575-5119, progressive.com
