We love a little nod to local lore, especially when it comes served in a glass.
Which is why Distill Table’s rotating cocktail list piques our interest. Blending fall and funny on the new seasonal Local Libations list, the Lakewood restaurant’s Crocker Park cocktail ($8) is a pumpkin-spiced rum drink that tastes like the contents of a Starbucks cup, but it’s anything but basic.
“There’s always a great backstory for why we named the drink what it is,” says restaurateur Eddie Tancredi. “There’s a little humor in many of the names, too.”
Western Reserve Distillers, which shares the Madison Avenue space with Distill and produces rum, vodka, gin, whiskey and bourbon, creates the base liquor for most of the menu’s 23 signature cocktails.
But other homegrown ingredients amp up the farm-to-table vibes, such as the Ohio-made apple cider in the Baker Mayfield-inspired Feeling Dangerous ($8) brandy drink.
“In the fall, you’ll see things like spices and squashes that resemble what the season is,” Tancredi says of the cocktails, “because it’s based on items we can get in.” 14221 Madison Ave., Lakewood, 216-505-5188, distilltable.com
