When Micah Roberts was 16, she spent her summer working at Put-In-Bay, where she developed a love for the lake.
Inspired by Lake Erie and other coastal brands such as Vineyard Vines and Fish Hippie, Roberts founded Erie and Anchor online in 2017 and opened her storefront February 2020.
The nautical brand boasts classic, comfortable and durable apparel for the entire family.
“It’s classic gifts and apparel that we want you to have for years to come,” Roberts says. “It’s something you want to live in.”
Online or in its downtown Vermilion storefront, you’ll find everything from cozy pullovers made for chilly beachside nights to lightweight tote bags, adorned with phrases such as “Great Lakes” and “Lake Life.”
Erie and Anchor’s first hoodie is still one of its bestsellers: the anchor hoodie in Kelly green ($48) features its logo in navy print on a washed, faded green sweatshirt.
The quick-drying mesh-backed hats are also a hit among boaters and lake lovers.
Erie and Anchor donates 5% of every purchase to organizations such as the Lake Erie Foundation, helping keep the lake clean.
“I really want it to be around for generations to come,” Roberts says. 5499 Liberty Ave., Vermilion, 440-963-9447, erieandanchor.com
