At Rising Grill, take dinner into your own hands.
The AsiaTown restaurant offers four different chef showcase combinations ($74.99-$139.99) that let diners cook piles of assorted proteins themselves on gas grills built right into the tables.
From sweet, tangy bulgogi to short ribs marinated for 48 hours in soy sauce and Asian pear, fresh-butchered meats come in lean, bite-sized slices which manager Jessica Singh helps arrange on the slanted grill before handing over the tongs.
Each combination comes paired with up to 22 different banchan, a cavalcade of marinated, fermented, fresh and pickled sides.
Pluck a toothsome scallop from the grill to chew with Chinese greens, or slurp a spicy gulp of the accompanying seafood Soon Dubu Chigae stew before offering your neighbor some pickled radish.
“Friends, family sit around the table to talk,” says Singh, “and at the same time, they’re cooking together, passing around banchan, discussing new foods to try.” 3706 Payne Ave., Cleveland, 216-465-3561, risinggrill.com
