You won’t find wine from Antarctica on the shelves of Magna Wine Boutique. But it’s the only continent not represented among the bottles of reds, whites, rose wine and sake from places such as Moldova, Tasmania and the Black Sea. “You’re going to find wines from really cool places that make great wines that are often overlooked,” says Brittany Wiley, who co-owns the Bedford and Cuyahoga Falls boutiques with her husband, Dre.
The duo noticed a lack of minority-owned wine stores nationwide and decided to fill the niche and take it a step further by increasing their focus on minority-crafted wines, too. You’ll find roughly 20-30 minority-owned wines, such as a vibrant red Chaos Theory from Nappa Valley’s first Black-owned estate winery, Brown Estate.
But don’t be intimidated if you don’t know the difference between a riesling and a rose wine — Magna takes the guesswork out of choosing a wine and helps shoppers at every step regardless of their wine knowledge. “We say, ‘No wine snobs allowed,’ ” says Wiley. 692 Broadway Ave. Bedford, 440-658-9776; 2115 Front St. Suite A, Cuyahoga Falls, 330-849-5946, magnawineboutique.com
