Wake up with a coffee you can chomp into. Milk and Honey’s cinnamon toast latte ($5 for 16 ounces) features a cascade of sugary Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal floating atop an island of ice, coffee and espresso. Unveiled as a monthly special in April, the latte’s popularity has kept it a staple for the Instagram-worthy cafe with more than 900 sold since.
This specialty drink combines Erie Island Coffee Co. espresso with crushed cereal, vanilla syrup and a choice of milk. Co-owner Anisa Rrapaj, who studied abroad in South Korea, was inspired by the country’s extravagant coffee culture. She wanted to make her own cereal latte and asked Milk and Honey staff what Cleveland’s favorite cereal was.
Rrapaj based her recipe off their Cinnamon Toast Crunch verdict. “The cinnamon comes through a lot,” Rrapaj says. “But you can still taste the flavor of the coffee; it’s very smooth.” 1100 Superior Ave., Suite 110, Cleveland, 216-598-0934, milkandhoneycle.com
