There’s nothing like a food platter that satisfies all the senses. That’s why Maddie and Ellen Coticchia, owners of Sweet Brie Co., pride themselves in blending the beauty of food and design.
Launched in February of 2020, the sisters use high-quality cheese, meat, fruit, olive and nut combinations to prepare intricately arranged charcuterie boards ($11-$225) inspired by what their customers are craving.
“The possibilities are almost endless,” says Ellen. “That’s kind of the beauty of it; [seeing] the different combinations people come up with.”
Gorgeous edible flower garnishes, some of which Maddie grows herself, stand out boldly against the boards, while fan-favorites include slices of brie that resemble flower petals and delicate salami roses.
“It really is an art,” says Maddie. “It’s not just about flavors and ingredients on a board that would go together, but it’s about making it as aesthetically pleasing as possible so you’re eating with your eyes first.”
All boards don’t have to be rectangular either. Their number- and letter-shaped boxes are perfect for birthdays or anniversaries, while the smaller boats and picnic baskets are perfect for themed parties and gifts. sweetbrieco.com
