Place to Take a Selfie
Admit it: You're guilty of taking photos over and over again until you have the perfect selfie. The folks at Playhouse Square feel your pain. After unveiling the 20-foot-tall GE Chandelier in May, they noticed visitors looking for the best way to capture their smiling faces underneath the 8,500-pound dazzling dangler. The marketing department tested various angles and spots around the Theater District to get just the right amount of sheen off the structure, which holds a Guinness World Record for largest outdoor chandelier. The winning spot? The U.S. Bank corner at East 14th Street and Euclid Avenue, where a sign has dubbed it the official GE Chandelier Selfie Station. "We've seen older people, young people, people on their way to an Indians game," says Autumn Kiser, vice president of ticket sales and marketing. "We've seen a little bit of everything out there." playhousesquare.org
