With three kids under 7, Kristin Perkins doesn't have much spare time these days. But that also means the former kindergarten teacher has plenty of inspiration for her Miscellany Decor creations. "You can see where I am in my life," says the stay-at-home mom. Many of her ideas — from her oversized custom chalkboards, lemonade stands and A-frame tents ($90) — come from things she's wanted to make for her own kids or other moms have requested. "I do what I'd want to have in my house," Perkins says. So you can be sure she cares about what moms care about: quality, durability and price. Her girls, Clarke and Tatum, have tea parties under their colorful A-frame tents, and her son, Quinn, uses his as a book nook. "I know that my kids are in it and it holds up to their rough play," she says. Perfect for inside or out, the 4-by-4-foot wood-and-fabric structures also fold away for easy storage. And while Perkins must wait to work until her youngest naps or after the kids are asleep, it's rewarding. "Being able to use a power saw by myself is super-empowering," she says. facebook.com/miscellanydecor
