Then: We were already fans of peanut butter and chocolate, but Campbell's Sweets Factory hit the trifecta with its Buckeye Apple, modeled after the popular Ohio state tree-inspired candy. Dipped in caramel, peanut butter-flavored chocolate and finished with a wash of milk chocolate, this apple showcased our love for our great state and satisfied our sweet tooth. Now: With the popularity of its West Side Market stand and Ohio City store, owners Jeff and Lynn Campbell added a Lakewood location in 2013 and plan to open a larger factory within the next two years to keep up with the demand for its treats. It's a sweet success story for Jeff, whose father moved the family to Cleveland in 1975 to open Karmelkorn shops. "I fell in love with the business and the product," he says. "I never wanted to do anything else." Various locations, campbellssweets.com
