Rock the House Live raises the roof on our expectations of a cover band. The party band was created after its seven members underwent an extensive audition process that tasked them to master genres from gospel rock to country to '80s hair metal. "The idea was for us to be live DJs," says Dennis Nero, band leader and drummer. "We're constantly building up our master song list because we're just pounding out songs like an assembly line." But there are plenty of fresh remixes too. Each set has unexpected twists with Kelly Marie Pease and Ashley Amato taking the lead on normally male vocalist-driven songs such as Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines." As part of its 50-plus-song catalog, the band also plays 15-minute mashups such as 'N Sync's "Tearin' Up My Heart" with Britney Spears' "Toxic," "Milkshake" by Kelis and "Barbie Girl" by Aqua.rockthehouselive.com
