We love the portability of wine-in-a-box as much as the next Target shopper, but Graham Veysey’s wine-in-a-can ManCan ($19.99 for a four-pack) has us rethinking our vino habits. The Hingetown progenitor cracked open the idea for ManCan in early 2015 after a visit to Ohio City’s ABC the Tavern, which had limited wine options but plenty of cans of beer. “I wanted to give my beer belly a night off,” Veysey says. The Sonoma, California-made and -canned wine — available at Whole Foods, select Dave’s Markets and bars such as Nano Brew and Banter Beer and Wine — comes in a dry red blend and two sweet white blends: regular and fizzy. Veysey flies to Sonoma and oversees production to help ensure a consistent taste, an important factor in the wine’s accessibility. The ManCan name and focus on just three styles is Veysey’s play at making wine more appealing to men. But, he says, it’s great for everyone from tailgaters to picnickers. “We are taking out the chore of drinking wine,” Veysey says. “That’s a really fun proposition.” mancanwine.com
