Funko Pop vinyl figures — with their awkwardly large, square heads and tiny bodies — are the cooler, hipper cousins of Beanie Babies but with a fun pop culture spin. With characters ranging from Stranger Things’ Eleven to Harry Potter’s Dobby, it’s easy to become addicted to collecting the more than 3,000 versions of the adorable toys. That’s why we’ll trek out to Pop Sandusky for its super-sized selection of 250 characters. Inside the 3,000-square-foot comic book and collectibles store, TV and movie nerds like us may find that Princess Leia to complete a Star Wars set while debating over which of the Parks and Recreation characters to buy. Although most figures range from $10 to $12, customers can also find rare gems such as a recently sold Mars Attacks! Martian for $355 — but it’s worth it for the memories. “I think people get pulled back to their childhood when they see them,” says owner David Baum. “People have fun going out and searching for them, and I think that’s the best part.” 3104 Milan Road, Sandusky, 419-621-1127, popsandusky.com
