The waterfall views from this casual-dining restaurant are unmatched in the town of Chagrin Falls. “It’s been described as ‘you can almost touch the water,’ ” says owner/manager Joe Saccone.
So, what’s the best seat in the house?
“The very best view would be in the summertime when the lower patio is open,” says Saccone. A covered awning shades two rows of white, faux-stone fiberglass tables that seat up to 24 guests. “The front row faces closest to the falls,” says Saccone. “But the second row is just as good, in reality.”
As most patios go, it is first-come, first-serve, with seats often filled by 5:30 p.m. on a Friday or Saturday evening. But Saccone offers a tip for soaking up the view midday: “Jekyll’s opens now on Saturday and Sunday for lunch, so, if you are out, there is a good chance that you will be able to sit down there.”
And even on hot summer days, snagging a wicker patio chair makes for a cool lunch. “Sometimes if the waterfall is running really hard after a big rain in the morning, depending on how the wind blows, you can feel a little bit of a mist,”
reveals Saccone.
