Put your best foot forward for date night and dress the part. Whether it’s your first date or 50th, a polished outfit speaks volumes. John Geiger, menswear buyer for Geiger's, emphasizes fit and versatility when getting dressed. The store has everything you need, including a large men’s fashion department, suiting departments at both the downtown and Lakewood locations and a haberdashery at Lakewood.
Classic Staple: Geiger, who also manages the store's website and oversees in-store merchandising, stresses that an essential to every man’s wardrobe is a crisp white shirt. "A classic white shirt can take you to work to dates to weddings to anything," Geiger says. “I’ve never seen a white shirt look bad on anyone.”
Color Forecast: Get the most out of your clothing by finding items that work for both day and night. “Navy and olive green are always very strong colors. We’re going to be seeing some pops of red and orange, as well,” Geiger notes for late summer and early fall color trends.
Subtle Details: “Avoid crazy color combinations and patterns that distract from your personality,” Geiger advises. “If you have kind of a quirky personality, maybe you show that in a sock or a watch.” The downtown location sells Daniel Wellington watches with interchangeable straps.
