Sherry Groom admits she's an addict. But her vice is the sort with a pug nose, impish grin and colored fuzzy hair: the troll. "There's something in those grinning eyes and the mystique that surrounds them," says the co-owner of the Troll Hole in Alliance. "They have the history." As you stroll through the museum featuring a troll bridge, 16-foot-tall troll mountain and a brand-new Troll Education Center, Groom enthusiastically spouts off factoids about Norwegian folklore trolls that have multiple heads and how you can tell an original Dam Co. troll from the others (the girls have rounded ears, while the boys have pointed ones). Glance at her Guinness World Record floor-to-ceiling collection of the dolls — now topping at more than 4,500 — featuring a scantily clad Chippendale and a replica of a Rod Stewart look-alike presented on The Tonight Show. Oh, and the meek Groom takes the term "trolling" to another level when she dons a wig and morphs into the quirky, mischievous Sigrid "Queen of the Trolls" for tours and trips to Canton's First Fridays in the neon Troll Hole bus. "I kind of have a dual personality," she laughs. 228 E. Main St., Alliance, 330-596-1157, thetrollhole.com
