In his natural habitat of fitness training, Josh Mekota is on stage. His performance style: quirky fun and upbeat. “The main thing that separates us in my opinion is making everyone feel like they’re a part of the community here,” he says. His goal is connecting with his clients and then getting them to do what they think they cannot do. “Not everyone moves the same, not everyone can be pushed the same. Our philosophy is based off of fat loss, so we do a lot of metabolic resistance training with intervals. We use body weight, ropes, kettle bells, sleds and unconventional tools,” he says. “I know they can do these things, but they don’t think they can. My goal is to flip that script on them.”
