Try warm yoga flow for all levels. But know you’re going to sweat — a lot. So, bring water, and wear a top that will stick with you while you move. (It sounds like the last thing you’d want in a 99-degree room, but think about gravity’s pull on loose clothes.) And, don’t let the heat turn you off. There’s nothing stuffy about this class, which accommodates all yoga levels. That means you, beginner. And, you, the one hesitant to enter a yoga studio.
“There’s a range of benefits to the heat,” says Tammy Lyons, owner of Inner Bliss Yoga Studio. “It softens your musculature and allows you to open in ways that you might not if you were cold. As the heat rises, you have to pay attention to how you are moving.”
There are also detoxifying benefits to hot yoga. “When you get to the end of the class, you lie down and feel like you have let go of something,” Lyons relates. “Perspiration does that. We like to say that profound sweat is all of those un-cried tears finding their way out of your body — it’s letting go.” 19537 Lake Road, Rocky River, 440-331-3940; 29055 Clemens Road, Westlake, 440-250-9600; innerblissyogastudio.com
