Two big additions are coming soon to Lake Health, Lake County’s mid-sized independent health system.
A new community health center in Willoughby and a new Wellness Campus in Mentor will join Lake Health’s two main flagship hospitals — Tripoint Medical Center in Painesville and West Medical Center in Willoughby. Lake Health also operates 15 community-based facilities, plus the two in development.
“We are focused on enhancing choice, patient experience and service options beyond those we currently provide, to continue meeting the health care needs and expectations of the region,” says Jonathan Archey, vice president of public relations and government affairs.
Lake Health broke ground last May for the new medical campus in Willoughby, the Perrico Health Campus. Slated to open this June, it will be home to Lake Health Physician Group Women’s Health Specialists and the Lake Health Physician Group Willoughby Hills Internal Medicine. It also will have physical therapy, diagnostic laboratory and imaging services.
The new state-of-the-art facility will be situated on a 5-acre campus at I-90 and Route 306 and will be the first to which Lake Health has attached a donor’s name.
“As longtime Lake County residents, my family and I have all used so many Lake Health services over the years. Every experience has been extremely positive and redefined the way we think about health care,” says Michael Perrico, CEO of Alpha Imaging LLC, a medical imaging family business for more than three decades.
The other project, the Mentor Wellness Campus, will blend traditional medical offices with on-site clinically supervised wellness programs aimed at improving overall health.
The fitness center will be open to the public. It will also offer personalized exercise programs, massage and stress management, occupational health and work-related therapies, sports medicine, weight and nutrition counseling.
The innovative campus at the corner of Market Street and Munson Road in Mentor will include an urgent care, laboratory, imaging services and physicians’ offices. It is slated to open in January 2018, and memberships for the fitness center soon will be available to the public.
Lake Health is the largest employer in Lake County and has been an integral part of the community for over 110 years. U.S. News & World Report ranked the health system 26th in Ohio and sixth in Greater Cleveland, and rated it “high-performing” in four adult procedures/conditions. It is staffed by more than 600 medical professionals, 2,900 employees and 1,000 volunteers. For 15 consecutive years, NorthCoast 99 named it one of the 99 best places to work in Northeast Ohio.
