Education: Case Western Reserve University, 1979
Most Inspiring Person: My dad, Joe Hurtuk, who worked at Warner & Swasey as a machinist for more than 50 years. He would take me with him to sell church raffle tickets. My dad would say, “Go try that one, but make sure you introduce yourself.” It was years later I learned that the customers were friends of my parents, but it taught me to be bold and not to be afraid to ask for the order.
Proudest Moment: I launched the Colliers Cleveland office in July 2012 with a goal to organically build a team of talented professionals one person at a time. I’m proud to report we’ve grown to more than 50 individuals from 34 organizations who like, trust and respect one another.
What I’d Tell 16-Year-Old Me: Don’t be in such a hurry to go on to the next challenge without taking time to enjoy the moment.
Bucket List: I’d like my wife, Anne, and I to go live in Prague in the Czech Republic for at least six months to fully immerse ourselves into its culture and society.
