Education: York University, bachelor’s degree
Greatest Inspiration: I’ve been lucky to have two great mentors: Allan Krulak and Lee Seidman. Allan taught me about civic leadership and volunteering. Mid-career, I shared a double-desk with Lee and learned about business and philanthropy.
Most Inspiring Person: I’ve often said I wanted to be Dick Pogue when I grow up. I’ve certainly run out of time for that.
Dick is still an inspiring figure in this town.
Proudest Moment: Coolest moment — I’m tempted to say it was being in the second row when Janis Joplin played at Blossom Music Center in 1970, but that was superseded by my trip to the very top of Terminal Tower to hoist the flag, 52 floors above Public Square.
What Keeps You Up at Night: I’m in the crisis management business. Everything keeps me up at night, from social media
attacks and active shooters to environmental events, data breaches and threats against the country’s electric grid.
